TV Time Goes Down and Internet Time Goes Up

The time people spend on the web keeps increasing and reaching now in average up to 32 hours per week. And if mostly it’s shifted from TV viewing it means only one thing – advertising budgets has to accommodate such change and relocate money towards the internet. By doing so it will boost online sales even more. Some studies done by Forrester Research  suggest that e-commerce sales will reach $334.7 billion dollars by 2012. It’s very easy to see why. Online sales will come at expense of typical retail stores and switching from TV to Internet.

Almost 9 internet users out of 10 have purchased something on Internet. That’s amazing considering that only two year ago statistics reported 10% of world’s population has made at least one purchase. North America and Europe have more purchasing power then developing countries however we see that it changes very fast also.

With more products being offered via Internet and improved transaction security the number of users buying products and services is growing, so does Online revenue.

The number one product bought Online is BOOKS, following by CLOTHING, VIDEO/DVD/MUSIC and with TRAVEL reservations being in fourth place.
